I work full days and the only choices I have for lunch are McDonalds or ready made meals from a health food store with a base of soy protein or textured vegetable protein. I'm trying to bulk up, and have heard soy protein is not good and is actually retro productive to muscle building. Is this true? Is this the same for the textured vegatable protein?

I have been taking soy protein supplements on nonworkout days, and pre workout for the past month (I work out in the evening). I have had NO problems with soy protein. It lets me fill in my lack of protein in my normal diet just fine. I've been consuming about 80g of soy protein daily to double my normal diet, which has ~about~ 80g of naturally occuring egg/poultry/beef protein. That, coupled with a 30g whey protein shake post workout hits my ~200g~ of protein intake goal for lean muscle mass growth.

I've seen great results with soy protein in my diet.
