The past two days that i've worked out i've been pretty darn weak and tired. I don't know why, i'm lifting 20lbs. lighter on bench it's like after the first 4 reps i run outta strength, could it be my diet? a lack of carbs maybe? I've been lifting for over 5 months. It's really starting to piss me off, tomorrows an off day and i'll be running on thursday i'm gonna try and fix my diet around and eat some good carbs, but what kind of carbs should i eat before a workout?

one other thing i wanted to ask on days like that when you feel weak and can't lift as much are you still working those muscles enough to make them grow? I worked until failure.

Could just be a bad day caused by lack of rest or lack of nutrients... what is your lifting routine like.

Justin dont worry about IT. Everyone has their weak days infact I had mine yesterday doing chest/tricep workouts and on the bench the bar just fell to my chest and I didnt have the strength to get it back up. Dont let that get you down just take off some weight and go at it. (Even though I hurt one of my pectorial muscles by going further) I shook up my routine yesterday a bit. I did it in the evening instead of in the morning and I did it on a full stomach instead of empty (I get a better workout on an empty) But the good thing that came out of it was I killed my triceps and I got the greatest pump out of that.

You said you'd been lifting for five months; have you taken a week off? You may just need to give yourself a break.
Also low energy could be due to a lack of carbs but w/out knowing your diet, it's hard to say.

Yeah i've taken a week off, after my 3rd month. I plan on taking a week off every 3 months. Thanks guys, It was very discouraging and i just felt like giving up weight lifting all together.

Justin , a week off every 6 to 9 weeks may be better. It really sounds like you need to spend some time looking into your diet. Do the diet homework.. the answer is probably there if you have no medical problem.

Oh yeah, Everybody has weak days. Thats normal. If they string out into a long term thing, you need a break or better eats.
