I have been working out for awhile now. I have changed my diet to be centered around more protein to help with it.My question is this. I have a quite a bit of fat around my stomach. I am doing ab exercises and doing cardio every night. I am toning up pretty well everywhere else but I am not seeing much progress around the stomach. I am not trying to get a major six pack here. I can worry about that later. I just want to lose some of the fat around my stomach. The rest of my upper body is looking decent but then my stomach throws it off. To me, it looks disporportionate. I wanna show of my upper body a bit when I get back from deployment but I can't because my stomach just messes it up. I may just be to self-conscience but I want to lose the fat. I realize that it is not gonna happen over night but I figured I would see more progress. I also now you can't spot reduce. I am taking a protein shake in the afternoon. Should I cut down on the protein? Is there something extra that I can do to help it along?
Well there's no such thing as spot reduction. Don't cut down on the protein. I'm also keeping a lot of weight around that area, and I've read that- unfortunately- that the stomach area is one of the last places men lose fat.
You just have to keep up your exercise and overall fat loss, eventually it'll cut down.
I know I cannot spot reduce. I am trying to really push my stomach right now as I cannot get it to tone much. I have a decent sized pooch and I am really trying to get it shrink. I know I cannot spot reduce but it makes me self-conscience and I think it looks really disporportional. I wanna show off my upper body a bit when I get back if we go to a beach or pool but I will not be able to do it if my stomach does not start going down. I just keep pushing it and see what happens.
