With such a topic so broad we truly try to cover the basics from all angles in this group. Nothing too big or too small. Nutrition is as significant if not more as exercise is to reaching your goals so learn all you can.
I have been working out 5 days a week for 2 weeks and drinking nothing but water, and I have cut back on fats and sugars. So why have I gained 3lbs? Please let me know if I seem to be not doing something I should!
Could be muscle... a pound of muscle fat takes up less space than a pound of fat... so, three pounds could be muscle... a more accurate way of looking for changes is with a tape measure... measure your waist, arms, etc and note any changes there... also, if you weighed yourself at a different time of day the could be a discrepancy there too... you weigh different at different times of day...
Hope that helps...

Sarah, go easy. There is always the next day. First thing is not to be discouraged. Loosing weight is probably the hardest thing in the world to do. My advice to you would be to talk to a trainer at the nearest gym and let him/her explain the basic "rules" of dieting. There are a lot of factors involved. Start by writing down everything you eat for the next 3 days to a week. Go in talk to someone and let them give you advice on where to start. Good luck babe, and HANG IN THERE!:)
