Hi! Is it true that by walking for a longer period of time, (let's say 45-60 minutes) reduces body fat %, while running helps lose weight in general (may include losing some muscle)? That's what some body builder woman at the gym said...that she doesn't want to lose weight, only decrease body fat % so that's why she walks on the teradmill for so long. It sounds kind of strange because if one loses weight they lose body fat % too, or am I totally off?

walking for a long period time does at least burn fat as well or better than running/jogging for a shorter period of time. I don't know about the muscle loss, but if you are worried about it, then you could walk and still get fatburning effects.
