I was wondering how long i should wait between working each muscle group? I.E. if i worked my chest today is 2 days a good recovery period or is one day or maybe more than that? i know it's different with each muscle group such as calves, abs and forearms you can pretty much work every day. but what about chest, back, shoulders, quads and the other groups?

You should work each muscle group once every 7 days...even calves, abs, adn forearm.....the key is to train each of those bodyparts intensely enough...

I dissagree. small muscles biceps, abbs, ect recover quicker and require a higher turnover than thighs, chest ect some pro's will give larger muscles as long as three weeks to recover.

depends on your method of training..

Triceps work on chest, shoulders, triceps
Biceps work hard on every back exercise....as well as on squats stabilizing the weight...
I mean I train my arms once every 2-2.5 weeks...and I tend to overstretch it on the small body parts...but I think once every 7 days is good...Yes some of my friends prefer twice a week method but they also train lighter...although it all depends...how quickly you recover, intensity, volume, etc...
the best decision on workout cycle is made to account each individual's unique body...
