this is my first post and i feel a little awkward. i guess first thing i just want to say that i think everybody in this whole website is so brave to talk about this kind of thing, even if you can kind of hide behind a computer identity. it gives me some courage to be honest.

i joined this group because i'm really frustrated with my body. everything i've every read about being overweight and gaining weight always implies that it's so simple - stop eating crap. no more ice cream or cookies or pizza or whatever. just fruit and vegetables and whole grains and lean protein and we've all heard it a million times. but the real kicker for me is that i NEVER eat crap. ever. i'm allergic to everything like that. no wheat, no refined sugar, no dairy, no white potatoes unless i feel like inviting a massive migraine and an upset stomach. i eat exactly how everything says a person should be. and i'm still gaining weight! and it's not like i don't exercise either. i walk, i run, i bike. it's just frustrating to not even be able to maintain as a goal weight what used to be my upper limit and just not understand why.

anyways, sorry to just complain. i'm hoping that all the tools from this site will help me track whatever i'm doing wrong. wish me luck.

Don'[t be sorry to complain, you aren't complaining - just stating a desire to change for the better which is always a good thing!

Have a good hard look at exactly how much you eat and how much you exercise. Maybe try filling out the exercise programme on this site, it might give you ideas, or help you break your plateau.

Godd luck!

Katie

Have you had your thyroid checked? If you are eating right and exercising but gaining fat, then you may have an underlying condition.

Give us an example here of a typical day's menu, when and what you eat. And give us a typical week's workout routine, when and what you do... we will figure it out.
