I read an article that said ultrasound is not effective. Anyone have it done? What kind of results have you gotten?

I've not had it done but I always thought that Ultrasound was supposed to be pretty good. Can you tell me where you read the article so I can have a look please?

I received ultrasound to treat a football-related muscle injury in my hip area. Even with the treatment my recovery time was quite long, so I would not be surprised if ultrasound really isn't very effective. My doctor said the theory was that the ultrasound waves create a "deep heat" effect that helps bloodflow in the muscle, therefore speeding healing. I didn't really see any great results.

I read it in an article in some magazine when i had jury duty...so i dont recall the magazine. I remember them saying that they tested it on some animals and it was shown to be completely ineffective and then they gave some reason as to why it wouldnt work with humans.
