Just wondering what some thoughts are on natural and herbal medicine. I got to an acupuncturist for my knees and allergies... for the most part, it seems to have worked a great deal... she helped my son also... she took the time to listen, whereas my doctor just wrote a quick prescription and sent me on my way...
Any thoughts?

My pharmacist, whom I trust, told me that they are beginning to rethink the use of herbal medicines in his 'profession'. Apparently 2000 or so years of practice has some merits and can't be all wrong! The problem for me is it's hard to find clear instructions and guidelines on their use and they are so darned expensive. Insurance won't cover it and as long as the pharmeceutical companies, doctors, and insurance companies are in bed together the situation probably won't improve. If anyone has a good, reputable website on the subject or some good info I, like Tim, would be interested in checking it out.

Yup... herbal medicine has been around a long time... it's managed to survive the current practice, so something must be right... again, like fitness, it's all in the research...
