You ask a very odd question. I would have to say that most of your arm strength probably comes from your triceps. In sports (I'll use tennis as an example), the shoulders and triceps are used heavily when swinging the racquet.

your tricep makes up over 2/3 of your upper arm mass and strength.
in regards to "everyday function," the tricep is what allows you to extend your arm and keep it straight, while it also allows you to push something away.
