I was just wondering, Im half way of my 8 week program but somehow I feel more tired than usual and my muscles isnt burning to lift like before. I heard that taking a 1week break would beenfit me and would come back stronger and burning to lift. The prob is I also read up somewhere that stopping in the middle of a program is really not a very good idea. Just wanna hear some opinions of wether I should force myself through the 8 weeks or take a 1week break and come back to finish it off.

try taking an extra day off, eat a little extra and get some extra sleep. drink lots of water and see how you feel. That way you will know if you are just tired out or if you are fighting off a cold.
Are you on a split where you get adequate rest between workouts? A 3 on , 1 off or a 4 on, 1 off type split gives you a full day of rest before you train again...

I had 3 days off this weekend because I was away and had no way of getting to a gym. I ate well and got good sleep. today my workout was more intense than it has been.

hellscream, i guess i took asimmers advice without her even telling me and she was right on!!

I always take a scheduled week off from training every 8 weeks, and boy does it help. I always come back and beat my previous bests and never plateau. On top of that, it gives me a chance to mentally recover (often overlooked) and re-establish my goals and why I am training. I would highly recommend taking a week off, but in your case, it sounds like you could be overtraining, so I would do just as asimmer said. Take an extra day off and see how you feel. Good luck.

Im doing 4 days a week. I been training about 2 weeks b4 switching to this program so in theory Ive done about 6 straight weeks. Still, I heard 8-12 weeks is when to take a break, also stopping for a week on the middle of a program is gonna make me feel liek Ive let myself down. I think I'll try that extra day with good rest to see how it goes :)

thx

Your feeling tired? What is your carb intake like and are you taking any extra vitamins?

carb intake meets the requirements. No extra vitamins. Might be just stress.
