Hay guys and gals. I'm starting back on my workout after a month of nothing due to the surgery. I have to start out light as the ole' tendon is not completely healed yet but had a question that has been asked before. Hope you don't mind the redundency but is it diet that will cause the bicep to have that vein pop that pops up or what? I forgot what the previous answer was to the question. Take care all and remember to be careful exercising and when your not.
Actually what it is, is that your muscles are getting bigger so the veins have got to move in order to keep the blood flowing, so with the muscles taking up more room the veins prtrude from the skin and in all actuality when you muscles get bigger your veins gain more valves in them because you have to get more blood flow to the area of gain, so most likely what you are seeing are the valves beginning to form. When your vein starts to protrude feel it for little hard spots. These spots will be valves. You will find a valve at every branch in the vein. Hope this helps a little. NREMT - P Greenlee
Agree with Greenlee and Ravenwolf's answer regarding bf% is also valid. Extra fat tends to cover up the veins. As one "leans" out if you will, "them veins" (lol) become more apparent.
