I'm new to this website and from the looks of it there seems to be an active community which seems rare for fitness websites. I started running/working out in mid June not knowing anything about it really and became a bit more educated in late July when I found the book body for life laying around in the house and read it. I picked up its work out plan. Thought it made a lot of sense but now I'm really starting to doubt it.
Maybe I'm just feeling the frustration of a plateau. Going on my 4th week now with out dropping a single pound. It just hovers, I weight myself one morning and from the looks of it I might have gotten through it but a few days later I weigh myself again and then I'm up 2 pounds.
The other frustrations I'm feeling now is people are telling me I need to break up more work outs a bit more. It goes like this: Every other day is lifting and on the other everyother days its cardio. Upper body one day of lifting lower body on the other then back to upper. The book says it should take 46 minutes or so.... BS it takes at least an hour and a half to get it done right! Thats a huge chunk of time out of the day. I don't think many people have an hour and a half they can just ditch like that.
So pretty much I am not a happy camper right now. I feel like I'm starting to loose motivation and dark moon of failure is peeking over the horizon. I'm not sure where to turn or what to do. I just get bombarded with advice (from people that clearly are not in shape) and I'm really not to sure what to do anymore.
I unfortunetly can't buy full access to the site, not old enough for a credit card or anything and parents think the internet is just an unpoliced world of con artists and pedophiles and would just laugh if I asked. So I feel like my options are extremely limited. here is the end of the sob story :(
So all this brings me finally to this message board desperate from some table scraps of valuable advice that you might throw way.
I'm 270 on a 6'3(last checked a year ago) maybe 6'4 frame. with a waist size bordering around 38 or 40. Depends on the store really. If I had to classify my body type I'd say I'm a mesomorph with some weight to loose. I take in at least 125 oz of water a day usually much. I've been on a diet of low fat lean proteins such as turkey, chicken, fish etc and good carbs as well. Smaller meals but more often kind of a thing. I could I tweak my workout system or even scrap it to continue my weight loss. the first 20 pounds were good but I wanna loose at least another 20.
Being familiar with BFL it is a good way to start to change your lifestyle. Don't give up. Go through the full 12 weeks, and don't expect to come out looking like the photo's inside the covers of the book. Continue Eating from the food lists, and keep training. You have to give it time to work.
Stop weighing yourself, and get out the measuring tape. Your clothes should be fitting you a bit looser now since July?.
When you complete the 12 weeks (which should be soon) try a weight loss and definition program from here on ft. It works.
