FWIW - I have a pair of cherub type angels on the rear of my shoulder. Got that one 30 years ago after the navy decided they wouldn't court martial me for 204 counts of negligent manslaughter. :) Point being, I've gone up to 220 and down to my current 180 and it's never been an issue.

I had mine redone about 4 years ago since between the years and too much sun it was amost invisible. Plus the newer technology now made it look 100% better.

I didn't see your what the heck till after I hit the post button. It's a long story - the short version is we had a flight deck crash that also took out several other aircraft as well as the plane handlers and flight deck personnel. I was the air traffic controller in charge, we had blank tape recorders (they assumed we erased the tapes) and several other Murphys Law type of things. After 14 months of JAG it turned out that the USS Kidd had been playing cat and mouse in our op area and coincedentally recorded that recovery and had been using it as a training aid so it hadn't been cycled through and been recorded over. My JAG lawyer was playing handball with the Kidd's Combat Officer the day before my hearing and they got to talking about it and they got it signed into evidence and I was cleared. On the way out of the hearing chambers, my lawyer said I must have an angel sitting on my shoulder as he would have bet a years pay that I was going to prison. A couple of hours and many beers later, a friend of mine and I were sitting in a bar in Norfolk and I was telling him what the lawyer said. He pointed across the street and there was a tatoo parlor with a poster of these two cherub angels sitting on a cloud. If I'd had a couple less beers I probably wouldn't have gotten them but I've never regreted it. You could say that was a defining moment in my life. :)

Mike, you weren't on the Forest Fire or Coral Sea were you. I was on the Blandy DD943 from '72-'74. We ran plane guard duty for both. Picked up a few pilots in our time who missed the boat so to speak.

LOL just a couple o' geezers. What years? Maybe we shipped together.

A few years back I was sitting in a restaurant in Hilton Head talking with one of my wifes business associates. I'd known him for 8 years. We both knew we were ex navy but never connected the dots. I asked him what ship after he told me he served on tin cans. He said the Blandy. Turns out he was on board her during the blockade of Cuba in '62. I was on her 10 years later for our Viet Nam debacle and a Med cruise.. What's da chances?

Coral Sea from '68 to '71 then the Forrestal till early '75. I had a cousin on Forrestal almost the entire time I was on board but didn't know it till we both got off and was visiting home. :)

I don't think you are going to see a big change in the tattoo unless you suddenly become a monster steriod abusing WWE star or something. :) Just really put some thought into the tattoo as in, if your arm widens will the tattoo be able to widen and still look symetrical? etc.
good luck.
