Hi everyone! I am a 23 yr old female, 5'6" and 130 lbs. I am new to FT and have a question. I work out on a regular basis and do muscle building exercises, but can't seem to get rid of the stubborn fat around my hips and rear. I walk every day and eat pretty well. I don't want an exercise that will cause me to lose too much weight since I'm pretty small to begin with. Does anyone know how to add significant muscle to my glutes and lose the flab? This has always been a problem area for me, and for once I want my butt to look good in a swimsuit, as silly as it sounds. Help please!

Most will tell you to do squats and lunges. This is a subject that has been touched on by quite a few women here. Try looking in the female discussion forum for any threads with glutes in them. Good luck and welcome to FT!

It is important for you to get enough protein. It seems to me a lot of women and girls I know that are dieting don't even think about it. If you're looking to get more toned and add some muscle, it's definitely something you should think about. Like Mojo said: Squats, lunges, and I highly recommend deadlifting. Just learn the forms so not to injure yourself.
