I had a similar topic before this one but no one replied and I think its on page 5 now or somewhere around their so I thought i'd ask again. Does anyone have a site where I can go to that show all the kinds of stretching you can do and covers all the muscles. Also what is a rotator cuff warmup(a link to it would be nice)? And before I workout I stretch for only about 3 minutes counting for 20 seconds on each stretch is 3 minutes too short, and should I stretch again after each workout?
Personally, I think that stretching is way too important to be done from a book. Book yourself an hour with a reputable trainer who will explain and demonstrate everything for you. It's way too easy to injure yourself if you're going by pictures! You need to know how a stretch should feel as well as how it looks. Also, are you warm before you stretch? You need to be! As a side note, a thorough stretch sequence takes me 20 minutes, but I'm training for flexibility. Take at least 10 minutes, stretching is a good time to focus on your goals for the workout. A light stretch after your workout may help you from feeling 'tight-muscled' the next day. Good luck.
