All the tea and gum I want (cleans the intestines and the tea).
The rest, the extra food is not mine to eat.
So a leaving a little bit of extra space at each meal lets me have a small tasty snack if I want it.

Does anyone else have any input on this? Opinions, ideas, do you think this works, is a good strategy, have you tried it? I'd love to have your feedback.

I drink lots of green tea but I still struggle. I used to mentally abuse myself into losing weight but I am trying not to do that. Note to self: Be nice to me

One of the first and main steps you can take is reducing portion sizes. Use a smaller plate if necessary and fill it up, it will "look" like more, yet not be. Sometimes we need to "fool" ourselves to get started, whatever it takes.

Your attitude is for one thing very good, and keeping this attitude will in the end be the factor that will make you reach your goals.
