Hey, I'm new to this site and I have just recently purchased a membership at a local gym...I have worked out on and off for the past few years... but never acheived the desired results... mainly due to a lack of enthusiasm and dedication, and in many ways, knowledge. I have a new-found desire to reach my goals... and I'm trying to answer a few important questions before my workout routine becomes solidified...
So, for the individual well versed in Fitness practices, nuttrition and Training... Here it goes...

1.) As a 21 year old female, 5'2 and 128 pounds, what is my ideal, atheltic/toned body weight?

2.)What is a good approach to reach this weight?

3.) I have been, for the past few days, going to the gym for about an hour and a half everyday. I start with 20 minutes of cardio, and then proceed to the floor machines for strength training, then follow up with another 10-20 minutes of cardio. **Is this an acceptable/an efficient method for acheiving my goals, in the shortest period of time?** Keep in mind that when I strength train, I am working DIFFERENT muscle groups every day, i.e. Day 1, 3, 5, and 7 are one group, days 2, 4, and 6 are my "Core" muscle group days (Abs, lower & upper ba ck, etc).

4.) What is my ideal althletic BMI? I am currently at 23

ANY advice, comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

Sincerly,

Foreget about what you weigh and make your goal count for body fat %. Try for about 15% for starters.

Try a program from here on free trainers and again bf% is the way to go. There is no quick wat to acheive your goals, make it a lifestyle and you will see the changes. If you do your program, you will start to see results within 8 weeks for sure and feel fifferent within days.

Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.

Forget machines....start learning form for freeweight exercises....they burn a ton of calories while helping you shed bodyfat and gain muscle....squats, deadlifts, military presses, chin ups, bentover rows, etc...also start thinking lifts not muscles...few key lifts work your entire body...most women waste their time at the gym when it comes to strength training...it's quite sad....

for cardio do HIIT, sprints, run hills, etc...
