I have a bunch of questions because I dont really know where to start. Well here we go

What would get better results for time and money, Gym or a good supply of home equip or personal preference.

How do I know how much weight to start with. Should I keep lifting till I cant or how much I can lift for a certain amount of reps.

And Im a bit overweight, should I space my cardio and weight train days, Im much more concerned with weight loss than bulking up muscles.

I looked around but couldnt find any specific answers. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to put links to a couple of posts that will answer part of your question. The thumb tacked posts in each of the forums have a lot of info. As far as how much to lift? Start one of the FT exercise routines and they will also have the rep range.

There are a lot of trade offs on home equip vs. the gym. If you really know what you're doing, home equipment works fine. One of the advantages to the gym that's often overlooked is that you're paying a fair amount of money for the use and a lot of people are more likely to go.
