I know this isn't directly related to health and fitness other than air quality. Please pray for all those affected by the fires. I have not been directly affected as I am about 20 some miles away from one of the fires but have a number of friends, coworkers, and students that have. Some still wondering if their homes still exist. HATS OFF AND THANK YOU TO THE FIRE CREWS WHO ARE FIGHTING PITCHED BATTLES AND IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS.

I have and will continue to. I feel so bad for all those who have lost their homes and belongings. And yes a big thanks to the firemen who have come through for us once again.

Ya, my bro lives 20 miles from the fire line! And my prayers to the family of the one firefighter who won't be going home. We have almost 200 of our own who are now down there fighting.
And it is kinda health related: here in Vegas, the health dept has issued a major health warning yesterday and today because the air is so polluted from the smoke and the 50 mph winds. The entire sky is gray; can't see the mountains, and ash is falling from the sky.

Those fires are nuts. The ones we had in BC and Alberta look like a frying pan fire in comparison. Lets all hope they are stopped ASAP.

I live 10 miles from one fire and work 10 miles from another fire. There are ashes everywhere...I can smell it from my office...I can't forget for a minute what's going on. Too many of my friends live in the affected areas. I don't understand why they just don't leave. Why do they wait to be forced to evacuate. Especially the one's with children.
I spent a couple hours at one friends house 1 mile away...I couldn't stand it...my eyes were burning and my lungs hurt. Somehow, that didn't convince her to grab her kids and move in with her mother until things settle down.

Even here in Tucson today, with the wind, we are getting some of it(the smoke). It is really hazy and we can't see the mountains.
