Hey,
How can you tell for sure that you have perfect form while doing these exercises? I am never sure if I am holding my abs in properly. I feel like I am but not sure.

Also, which exercise is better for the ab muscles?
I think crunches but want to know for sure.

Thanks!!!

If it feels right when you follow the instructions, it probably is right too.

There isn't just one exercise that is best. You need to do a number of different exercises to get the full benefit of the workout.

I do a lot of ab exercises. I can focus well when it comes to the core but always had a hard time knowing if I was holding it in right or even at all. I have a little pooch and I think that's why it may be difficult for me to know.
Thanks for your help anyway. ;)

One trick that might help. Lie flat on your back on the floor with your arms by your sides and your knees bent. Now, tilt your pelvis up. It should lift your butt up a little and sort of angel slightly towards your head. Notice that your tummy sucks in when you do that. On the ground, some of that movement is your glutes, your hip flexors, and your abs. If you tuck your butt in while standing up, your abs will be doing most of the work, so just feel... am I tucking in my butt and standing up straight? If so, your abs are nice and tight. Hope that helps you out.

Maybe a dumb question, but what is the differance between Sit-ups and crunches?

Im assuming that the only differance is how far you sit up correct?

Exactly!
With crunches you are going up about half way.
Sit-ups mean...you sit up from a lying down position.

Thanks to you all for your replies.
I think maybe I should just sit down for a min. or two and write down the questions I need answered and see if they are in here. So far I haven't found my questions. ;)
