Hey guys, I need some major help here and if anyone could provide me with some it would be greatly appreciated. Basically I'm a 17 year old male and I have recently (much thanks to this board and acquired knowlegde of bodybuilding) gained about 25-30 pounds of muscle and feel I have a great grasp on GAINING! BUT.... I have a 54 year old mother who would like me to "train" her. Basically she had 2 children and had numerous operations and C sections during her pregnancy so she has a sort of buldge around her stomach region. She is indeed overweight along with the buldge near her stomach so I was wondering..... The essentials for her to lose weight and get in shape. (In comparison to bodybuilding) such as::
Foods To eat
What time to eat everyday
Proportions (calories, carbs, protein)
Workout Exercises and proper weight/ sets and reps
Any pre or post workout supplementation or tips for losses
cardio

Thanks guys and help with this would really be appreciated to the fullest!

First and formost did she check the 'bulge'? is it a hernia? She needs to get this taken care off...she may need surgery..if it's a hernia it will not go away and it can prevent her from lifting...

As long as she's healthy enough I would recommend lifting twice a week...doing big exercises...

Get her to do squats(probably bodyweight at the start), lunges, standing DB presses, goodmornings,DB deadlifts, DB Rows, push up(on knees at first prolly)etc...keep in mind that she'll be doing bodyweight or using light DBs to start....I would start her off with weight she can do for around 10 reps...for 1-2 working sets per exericse...

she should also do cardio 3-4 days a week.....she should do 30-45 min at her best pace or a mix...probably mix of walking and light jogging...as she progresses she can try HIIT....

Food recommendation would be similar as for any other person...bodyweight in protein, 1-2g of complex carbs per lb, 50-80g of healthy fats......she should initially not cut her calories by more than 500....

I suggest fish oil suppement while she's dieting...3-5g morn and 3-5g at night before sleep....

multivitamin is also good...Vitamic C separately might also help.....500mg a day to start...see if she can tolerate it(doesnt break out)...

Menace-Generally a "bulge" from a woman that has had one or more C sections is normal and is usually scar tissue
