I run in a 3mile Cross Country race every saturday started in about August. My mile time isn't great but its 5:38 and my 3 mile time is worse its like 22minutes... I NEED HELP, how would I beable to build up stamina so that I could hold a pace of 5:30 for 3 miles or atleast a 6min pace. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED PLEASE! I WANNA NOT LOSE AT ALL THIS YEAR I WANNA HELP ME TEAM. lol

run run and run, add some pure hill training, run a mile then run up and down a hill that is 300 - 500 yards long as fast as you can, 10-15 times then run another mile. Throw in some longer run days as well aim for 5 miles then the 3 mile runs seem very short and easier.
I would be thrilled to be able to run a mile under 6 min again, but my 5k times aren't too far off at 25 min. Not too bad for a 40yr old weighing in at 212lb. I hope to get it down to 23min for 5k this summer.

good luck with that jake, the biggest hill we have here is about 150yards or so, and really steep, and its on the course that i run on for the race, so any advice on that?
