Hello all, I found this site and hopefully it will motovate me to start exercising again. I have not done weight training or running in a couple years of not doing anything but bicycle a lot.
Today, I saw a video of the Harlem Globetrotter Michael Wilson dunk on a twelve foot hoop and thought it was the coolest thing ever! I find it is helpful to watch movies by Bruce Lee and Jackie chan, and to be inspired by awesome athletes as well, such as Michael Jordon (40"+ vertical jump) and Carl Lewis for the long jump (28+ feet!!). Does anybody know the world record for standing vertical jump?
Well, any advice to inspire me would be very helpful as I have gained weight over the years but lost it through changing my eating habits instead of exercising.

HAH! Sungazer, you will not find a group of more fitness-oriented people than here, I promise you. I watch Rocky IV over and over and oevr again, also Kill Bill and Girl Fight for inspiration. Kill Bill - for it's martial arts references (also, the place where Beatrice gets her Samurai sword is the place where the style of karate I do originates - Okinawa). Girl Fight - cos she's a girl and she fights, as am I, although I don't have it as tough as her. Rocky IV - okay, it's cos I like Dolph Lundgren!
But welcome, and good luck with everything!
Katie
