I have been doing the routine that is says to do on here.... Finally got myself doing the amount of reps it calls for woohoo!! lol well I have been debating on my cardio workout.... All i really want to do is tone up my abs.. really dont need to loose any weight other than the fat on my abs.... well i bought 3 buns of steel tapes not to long ago and was wondering could that be considered a cardio workout?? and have been tring to take my boys on walks on the days that I dont work out! I walk them across a inclinded bridge boths ways... would that be considered a good cardio work?? i did a search on and it and was just curious about that... if anyone could help or have a better suggestion I would really appericate it!! thanks....

ab work is not considered cardio...unless you do 1000 nonstop crunches....lol....

walking with your boys is cardio....

to lose fat around your midsection you still need to do cardio...no way around it...if that's where most of your fat is...then that's where you'll lose most of it...but you still cannot spot reduce the body fat....you will lose it from everwhere....you can try to lose all this fat/weight through nutrition alone (ie dieting) but I wouldn't recommend it....go for a long walk with your kids...(1hour?)

there's no such thing as 'toning'...it's just a made up word for trying to gain lean muscle and/or losing body fat.....

well i know my ab work out isnt cardio, but i was wondering if the buns of steel work out video could be considered cardio... was gonna mix it up and some rest days to the video and some days go for a long walk.... and was just curious if that would work or not... i know i have to watch what i eat and all that and i have been.... wont say i have been counting calories, but i have been cuttin out junk food and replacing it with yogurt and fruits and veggies... I have also been cutting back on the fatty foods in my regular meals... which is also good for the rest of my family altho my husband misses the fatty foods so I sometimes make him the fatty foods and make myself a salad...

I am glad you're cutting back on junk food...but remember to lose weight you have to cut out calories in general....do so by 100-200 calories every few weeks...

Buns of steel? lol...I don't know what the video specifically makes you do...I mean if it's something like doing some movements in place...like similar to aerobics videos....then it's fine...it can be used for cardio....

So do cardio at home for maybe 2 days of 30 minutes at moderate intensity...

and then try to go for 2 long walks a week...

also eat less in general on days that you don't do cardio...in terms of fat and carbs....

err reduce calories by 100-200...from your total daily caloric intake...

To loose a pound of weight a week you need to have a 3500 calorie deficit a week. You can do this by taking of 250 calories out of your diet, and another 250 in cardio.
