I can do about 70 pushups none stop of my own bodyweight but yet i still can't even do my full body weight in benchpress why not ive tried i can't even do a simple rep! this is very annoying i ask my friends how much they can do they say they can do there own bodyweight aswell! help

push up=58% of you bodyweight....doing 70 reps trains your muscles for endurance....when you're doing bodyweight for 1 rep....you're trying to work strength/power aspects of weight lifting which are much different from endurance training....thus it's not surprising...I train both...from time to time I do push ups to see where I am at...or do repeated method training of doing high rep work at the end of regular strength training sets...

according to an old school mens health article i have, the average joe can bench 93% of his bodyweight. if your looking to up your bench i suggest either adding weight to your push ups, or getting on the bench. like menace said, right now your training for endurance.. if you want size and strength you have to challenge your muscles with more weight, not just up the reps.
