I don't think ther is a best way.
Try approaching it as you would any other weight routine.
hands close to your body or with index fingers/thumb together will work tricep, wider will work chest.
If you can pump out 30 without any problems then your probably doing them too easy. try a few sets of 10.
if regular pushup is too hard then use stairs( hands on stairs /feet on floor)...if too easy then place feet on stairs and hands on floor or use stability ball ( also works abs)
