I've started doing about 20 push-ups every morning right b4 I go catch my bus 4 school. Is this a good thing to do to increase the arm size, and for abs 2?

Firstly, 20 push ups a day will not do anything for you at all. Also, to increase size you have to do weight training so you can tear your muscle, and then replace it by eating protein. I wouldn't do push ups that much because they wear out your shoulders real quick. Push ups also help your chest for than anything, they do a little bit for your triceps too. Is it bad to do push ups? Not necessarily. Is it good to do push ups? Not necessarily. To get real results, you have to put in a real effort. This means going to the gym 4-5 times a week for 45mins or more. Until you do this, not a whole lot will happen. I wish you the best of luck, and if you need further help, please post again. I check for new posts daily and I will surely see it. Take care.

Just natural growth maybe. Push-ups wont work your biceps at all.

They are a good starter though for beginners before getting into weightlifting. Bodyweight exercises are the best for starters.

20 push ups might be ok for the first couple of weeks...but you need to progressively and continually overload your muscles....otherwise you won't become stronger or experience muscle growth....reason your arms got slightly bigger was because push ups train not only chest but also triceps....and triceps makes up 2/3 of the arm....

You can gain some growth in chest and triceps and front part of shoulders by doing push ups...but you'll need to continually make the exercise harder by increasing reps and or difficulty of the exercise...

change up placement of hands...from very close to very wide....

do one arm push ups

elevate legs...

Your biceps are only slightly involved on the negative portion of a push up...

So try to do more and more push ups every day...also try to do 20...then rest a couple min then do another 20 or however many you can....if you got time....go until you hit 100...
