protein before during or after workout?

I saw a post at one point that your opinion on when to take protein might be shifting? Is there any benefit or waste if you start taking the pwo shake (with carbs) half way through? Is there benefit to load up on protein without the carbs before the workout?

There is benefit to both. Low glucose impairs performance.
