I'm just about to make a decision on which protein and creatine sup. to buy. After tons of research on this site and others, I found Optimum 100% whey protein 5lbs for $28.99 + $5.95 shipping. They also have a natural formula for the same price. Can anybody tell me if there's anything wrong with this product (like it's not the "right kind" of whey protein) besides the taste or mixability about which I couldn't care less. I just want an EFFECTIVE shake for the cheapest price (big surprise)

For me, it's all about the mixability, taste (very important) and protein content per serving. Try it out...I see nothing wrong with this brand. If you don't like it, try another one next time.

Also, use your search button. I seem to recall a post where someone explained the different types of whey protein (isolate vs. concentrate).

I use Optimum and it tastes great. My 5 year old picky daughter LOVES it (she may have a sip), so you know it must taste good. Mixes easily in milk or water with a good shake. I have had good results while using it as well.

If you go to www.netrition.com, EAS Simply Whey is $29.95 and $4.95 shipping, same price. I prefer that over the Optimum stuff, but I'm sure its pretty close to the same. The Optimum Nutrition whey protien sells for $28.95 on netrition.com, but there's only $4.95 shipping.

jb, have you used them both? I am just curious as I have not used EAS. If you have used both what have you found to be the difference, that has you leaning towards EAS? I like to cycle differenet brands, see if I can gain any edge. Love to hear your thoughts.

I've used the Optimum Nutrition Opti-Meal before, but not the whey protein. Like I said in the previous post, its probably pretty close to the same anyway. I prefer the EAS Simply Whey because of taste. The strawberry is awesome. Most 5lb containers of whey concentrate are close to the same price. Just buy a different one every month and see which one you like the best.

I order my 100% Optimum Whey protein from Muscledepot.com. I have found it the cheapest there. It is good stuff, and I think it works great. Just my two cents.
