I just started taking creatine today-- took 5g an hour before workout.

I'm taking creadrive from GNC, http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2133662

It helped A LOT. I could already feel the difference, adding two reps to my 6 rep max on bench and more..

The back of it says to take two servings a day, which is 10g of creatine.

The problem is, this comes with so much sugar. At two doses I'll be getting 66 grams of sugar! That seems like an insane amount. Is it safe to take this much-- will I end up burning that sugar anyway?

Or should I stick to one serving a day?

If it helps, I'm a 243 pound 18 year old, 6'2 (bulking and cutting fat-- or trying to)

Not a good choice of creatine. :( If you are trying to cut fat, way too much sugar...

They are salesman. Buy your creatine on line....best these days to opt for a good CEE..no bloating, no sugars, etc. and is rapidly absorbed and guess what?? It works. :)

Hm, I just spent 40 bucks on two of these things (father had membership discount)

Should I take one of them back, and just finish this one off anyway?

How much difference will it really make-- if I work hard with weights I should burn that off correct?

I just realized I already opened them both!

It's quite a lot too. I don't know what to do now, I can't waste all of it.. 40 bucks.

Is it going to hinder me so much that I should just get rid of it and buy new creatine, or should I just finish this off anyway?

Good news, GNC has a 30 day return policy if you have the receipt. After digging through the trash some, I found it and headed over there. Returned the two creadrives and bought BSN cellmass .. it's CEE, no sugar.

Hopefully this will work better.

bb1fit, you mentioned that his original choice wasn't good for fat loss... I thought that creatine wasn't good for cutting fat and that it was more for bulking up. Can creatine help you cut fat?

exact words from bb1 from a private message about the subject,

"Bottom line is creatine will help because it will help with ATP(more energy to the cell, will not get scientific here, simple answer unless you want me to), thus helping to keep your strength up a bit while you diet.

Calories mean strength, and when you cut calories, your strength inevitably drops. Therefore you cannot use the weights you normally use, and creatine will assist in keeping strength up a bit. "

There seeems to be some myth about creatine is not good for cutting. This stems I believe from old creatine monohydrate, that did cause some bloating. I always add creatine when I am cutting, for the above reason. It helps keep my explosivness/strength up whilst ever dropping of calories. When dieting, the first week or even 2 you think, no big deal, this is because you have full glycogen stores, and the body does not 'notice" the initial phase. But in a week or so, when glycogen stores start to drop, calories decreased of course, the strength factor and endurance factor begin to weigh in heavily, and it gets worse. Creatine can be of great assistance here. It has no calories, or so small it cannot hurt your dieting.
