Hey guys, just wondering if eating small portions or big ones of whole grain rice with Goya red kidney beans a couple of hours before the gym is good. Any suggestions on what else i can eat to get my body the nutrients it needs for the gym. Thanks for all your help. Have a good day everybody.

You have no profile, so we really don't know if you are trying to gain or lose. But any way it goes, have a good complex carb source like you mention and a protein source before training. If you train in the morning, oatmeal is a good one for complex carbs about 1-1 1/2 hrs. before the gym with a lean protein source. Later in the day, good sources are as you mention rice and beans. Just structure them to fit your calorie needs, before training and breakfast are the two most important meals for your carbs, quite possibly followed by your post training meal(after your recovery drink). Your carbs unless severly overdone at these times will have a very hard time being turned to fat storage for they are needed for energy too much if you are training intensely enough. And don't forget a lean protein source with each.
