Has anyone else heard of this type of exercise?

I think I may try it once a week in addition to traditional lifting and cardio.

Has anyone had positive experiences doing the Power of 10?

From CBS:
It's a 10-second cadence: 10 seconds up and 10 seconds down workout movement. You don't stop at the top or bottom, so the muscles sustain a constant, steady load for about 5 to 8 repetitions. You use a weight that will leave you "spent" by the last repetition and it will "fire" the muscles deeply and completely.

It's much harder than it sounds!

I have heard of excercises like that and it usually involves only 1 specific muscle group like the 3 hour bi-cep workout where you workout your bi-ceps for a straight 3 hours and than take 2 days off immediately and they say it adds 1inch to your bi-ceps. People try different things to speed growth and all I can say try some of them but some things work for some people and they dont work for others as we all have different ginetics. So dont get discouraged if it doesnt work but it can be fun to try.

or 10 sets of 10....for one mass excercise.....then a light isolation excercise to follow.

10 secs up 10 seconds down seems a lil farfetiched to do any good in my book sems like more strain on the muscles and tendons than what its worth. Maybe fo ra light warm up maybe, but not a work out.

Your gains will reflect how you train. If you train in super slow movements like that you will become very good at super slow movements, but you will obtain very little gain at higher speeds. If you are engaged in any sports (or can think of any) where the slower you are, the better your performance will be, that is just the ticket.

After rereading your post, if you do this in conjuction with conventional lifting, it may very well be complimentary. I would'nt recommend this approach as the only lifting style in one's routine.
