HI!!I've been hearing more and more that besides what you eat, HOW MUCH is very important too. I know I know, this isn't something new, but it's something I've been overlooking (maybe purposely) because admit it, when eating something tasty, who wants to stop right when you dont feel hungry anymore?!?! I sure dont stop then....and I know it's a bad thing. So as a "new year's resolution" type thing, I'm trying to cut back on portion size. Problem is, after an hour or two after eating, I am hungry again!! Question is, how long does it take for the stomach to "shrink" and adjust to the smaller portions??

I don't know. However, I went through survival school in the military. Had to go a week and only eat what we killed which meant a whole week without food. At the end of the exercise they took us straight to the chow hall. Man we loaded up our plates. I had 2 cheeseburgers, chili, fries, pie, loaded up. I ate 1/2 a cheeseburger and a few fries. What a waste! I attribute it to a shrunken stomach. It didn't stay shrunk long. Try eating foods that are lower on the glycemic index. Less impact on blood sugar=less hunger.

For numerous reasons, eating smaller portions every 2-3 hours is much better for the body than eating huge meals 3 times/day, so you are actually feeling "normal."
