I am an amateur mountain bike racer and looking to lose weight so I can jump out of the Clydesdale class to my age bracket. My question revovles around Plymetrics. I have heard of other bikers using this and they sayit helps on explosive speed...great for sprints. Helpful with weight loss as well? And what about this Pilates craze?
Plyometrics are indeed great for developing short, intense bursts of speed. Make sure that you are ready for that type of training, though, and that you get proper instruction. Plyometrics rock, but you can get hurt if you do them wrong.
