Hello Everyone!

I wanted to ask all you PTs out there what you think of the business? I've recently seriously considered trying to get certified and start searching for some customers. If some of you successful PTs out there could offer some advice for me I would really appreciate it!

1) I live in Texas and am not sure where PTs go to train their customers. Most of the more corporate gyms like Gold's won't allow you to train in them. Where do you guys go to train your customers?

2) I was reading the certification thread earlier and was curious what you successful PTs out there would recommend for certification?

3) Are there any good national or local PT organizations out there to help a new PT meet people in the field and get off the ground?

4) How involved do you guys get with your customers diet? I've helped get some of my girlfriends on various training programs and find myself focusing a lot on their diet and suppliments. Do you find in the PT industry nowadays that recommending suppliments and food is good for business, or do most of your customers not want to get involved in that aspect of training?

5) And finally, what do you PTs out there think should be a good goal in terms of number of clients to shoot for to professionally train full time?

Thanks so much for your help, and I would love to hear what everyones experience has been in the industry before I plunge in!
