Hello, have in just started a new program, and just learned that I am eating nowwhere near enough protein, is the following okay?:
I am only 129 pounds, I currently only get an average of about 50grams of protein, which apparently is way too low, I need 129grams of protein per day?? anyway....
to reach this target, would it be suitable for throughout each day to have 2/3 tins (small) of tuna in sandwithces?? That would be about 6 sanditches?? I would get 100 or so grams of protein through this... Will this help me recover and help me to grow bigger muscles more quickly??

Hi,
It depends on what you want to achieve - please update your profile! Try obtaining protein from milk and egg whites and chicken breasts! This has helped me build muscle! To get muscles, you need to do weight training and some cardio aswell as have a high protein low carbs and low fat diest and you will see results soon!

You can consume the protein in any form you want. Whether it be Tuna, eggwhites (hard-boilrd very convenient),chicken breadt,turkey, lean red beef. I would cut back on the bread. You dont need it. Get your carbs in better forms. If you have to supplement with a protien powder, so be it. Protein is the building blocks of all our cells. Good luck.

like carivan said a protein shake is a simple way to boost the amount of protein you get. if you can't afford to buy any then make your own - its pretty simple. also make sure you get some protein like every 3 hours or so, especially as you do more and more.

Thanks people...
I am like I said only small, but am looking to build up my muscle, not to be hugely muscular, but just to look more of an athlete.
I plan on having 2/3 tins of tuna per day in sandwitches. I understand that this must be taken at even times throughout the day, so I plan on eating 2 sandwitches every 3 hours...
I am deperate not to be a twig anymore!! thanks again
