I have been training since last summer, back then doing 25 mins on treadmill everyday, didnt change diet (peobably why i didnt lose weight) lifting weights but not doing that right (form was messed up). I stopped for a few months because scale wasnt going down. Started again mid january, started to eat a lot less and really cut down on snacking and eat healthier meals. I started lifting weights again, this time using correct form and majorly changing my routine. Am doing cardio for 20 mins a day every 2 days started doing jogging but last week i started mixing hiit in with it. My question am I doing something seriously wrong here cause I'm not loosing any weight or making any muscle so what should I change to see some results? im a 16 yr old guy weight hovering around 210. pls help.

Usually when your main goal is to lose weight, you won't really gain much muscle. you'll only maintain the muscle that you have while you're on a weight loss program. Have you noticed any change in the size of your midsection or other problem areas rather than pounds you've losted? i would suggest a minimum of 30 mintues per cardio workout 3-5 times a week. also maybe set small goals for each week or two so you won't bum out.

Maybe you should just give it time...I started working out in November last year, tried to keep my diet as clean as possible, without always succeeding, though, worked out 4 + times/ week and doing aerobics/ walking for cardio.

I worked pretty hard, but it is only now, after 5 months, have the kilos started to come off.

It takes time for your metaolism to change, I guess.

I'm not an expert, but I think you should persevere. It takes some time to do significant changes.

Yes a m3 said if yoru going to lose weight thats what your doing, because to gain muscle you need a suplus of god calories to build muscle. Also if don't have a caloric deficit then you won't lose weight ex.
you take in (eat) 2200 calories a day
You burn 2200 calors a day joging excercising
all you do in maintain weight

If you eat 2000 calories a day
and "burn" 2400 calories a day , that 400 calories extra you didn't take in. 400x7= 2800 calories a week burned thats about 1/2 lb of body fat.

Have you tried using a tape measure as a gage instead if the scale?? As of this moment I am 15 lbs heavier than the day I joined FT and my waste is 9 inches smaller. Work your diet, lift heavy, do a little cardio, stay the coarse. You didn't get oversized in a few months. It will take time to change. Be kind to yourself and don't get discouraged.

No, You need to keep up with the weight training muscle is more metabolicly active. More lean muscle will help raise your basal metabolic rate(calories burned at rest). I know for myself I want to get down to 250 someday but I dont want to give up muscle mass to get there so it will be a fight. Good Luck - Mike

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
