Hello everyone! This is my first post here on FT. I'm hoping to get on the right track to fitness and get my body to my desired shape soon!
Anyways, I'm 19 6'3' and about 230 lbs. I'd really like to drop about 15 lbs or so, and would like to figure out the best way how. I get into the gym about 3 times a week, and do some cardio, but not enough. My stomach is a little flabby, and I'd like to lose the flab and get it flat. Everyone on here says that Diet is the key to a flat stomach, so I am asking the question, "what is the diet to use in order to get a flat stomach?"
Anyone who could give me some tips/info, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks alot everyone.

the 12 week ab program gives a lot of good exercises and diet guidelines.
i'm in week 6 and just realized that there are diff diet guidelines for the ab program. here's the breakdown so you don't miss it too:
Cut carbohydrates by 30-50% - none after 7 pm.
Decrease total caloric intake by 20-30%
Increase protein intake by 20-30%
Double water intake - always carry a bottled water around.
Include Cardio 2 to 5 days a week - morning or after workout
Consume only healthy Fats - use flaxseed oil
Fat Burners - very effective - see ft Shopping Center

olive oil is good b/c it has omega 9's. flaxseed oil is good b/c it has omega 3's. both are essential fatty acids which tell your body to release fats stored. it's just that omega 3's are less prevalent in your normal diet b/c they're mainly found in fish, fish oils, flaxseeds, flaxseed oils. omega 9's can be found in most oils, but are the most abundant in olive oil.

So what exactly can I make using olive oil, and where can I find flaxseed? As stated above, someone mentioned fish... anything else?

you can make salad dressings, pesto sauce, use it as a bread dip. if you get the regular instead of extra virgin, you can use it in just about all recipes calling for oil. (the extra virgin has a strong flavor)
flaxseed and flaxseed oil can be found in health food stores. i personally don't like the taste so i use the capsules. if you don't like the taste either, i suggest taking them before you eat and with a full glass of water. otherwise they may cause some wicked tasting burps later.
some almost immediate results of flax and fish oils...
shinier hair, stronger nails, and more growth of both hair and nails, also skin looks healthier.

i find flax oil to be much more expensive than olive, but using both is suggested.
