I had gastric bypass surgery... 11 months ago - want to lose 50 more pounds and tone up the flab.....
I am 227 pounds that is down from a whopping 415 pounds.. 5ft9' I am only able to eat 1 cup of food at a time at this stage.. I try for 1200+ calories a day. I suppliment with several protien shakes everyday and I take vitamin suppliments. I do cardio, and lift free weight... but I am not sure I know what I am doing. How should one begin? I have free weights and a bench as well as a tread mill and a gazelle.

Sign up for one of FT's exercise programs (weight loss and toning) and use the nutrition tracker to ensure you get enought protien/carbs/fat and calories in general.

I did that but I am asking about reps and how much weight ... I wasn't specific enough...... how long should it take to work out say,.. my arms shoulders and bicepts?

The exercise program should tell you how many reps and sets to do. The weight depends on the individual.
I think the rule of thumb for the exercise programs here is: if it says 8 reps, use a weight that you could lift no more than 9 times.
exercise time will vary. there is no way for me to tell you how long it will take you. (although I think the rule of thumb for each work out is 30-45 minutes.)
Hope this helps.
