I am on my 8th week of the mass building program and as you all know its HOT! I get sore basiclly everywhere after workouts except my shoulders. Anyone know why this happens? I work them hard ect. I Need you guys 2 cents on this.

I think this happens not just to shoulders, but also to other muscle groups as well. But I always say, if you like the way your shoulders look, does it matter if they get sore after you work them? For me, the soreness just comes 1 or 2 days after the workout. And sometimes, I just don't get sore at all.

qualters - I've posted this one once before and wouldn't do this on your mass building routine - when you get ready to start your cut - do your full shoulder routine then go to the dumbell rack - pick up some 10 pounders and press for 10 reps - go to the 20's and do the same. Keep going (by 10's) till you can't pump out more than 8 reps. I first did this after finishing the 12 week program and I could only get to 50. Problem is - you aren't done yet. After you finish the 50's drop down by 10's and take each one to failure till you get to where you started. These are done with no rest between sets - finish up with a couple of sets of high rep (10-12) shrugs and tomorrow or the next day forget who wrote this post. :)

That's too funny, Mike! I don't usually do the rack...just add a few more exercises that ft has me doing. Some days, I'll literally crank out 20-25 total sets, incorporating drop sets, super sets and strip sets in that intense workout.

Same here normally, Robert. I run the rack for a week for the whole upper body when I'm changing to a new routine. You get some funny looks when you go start out doing dumbell flyes with 20 pounds at my body weight but the smirks usually stop after the 7th or 8th set. :) I don't do that unless I have absolutely nothing that I want to do the next day or two. LOL

WOW!! So Mike are you gonna be ready for my response after I work that routine you gave me after my mass program? More then likely if I do as you said, I will probably not be able to lift my arms to even post here at ft! I wrote down that routine. Thanks for your help Mike, I will give that work out a shot, and then afterwards I will feel like I got shot in the shoulders!

LOL BQ - I've read enough of your posts to think that you'll be laughing with the pain and I have nothing to worry about. Besides, you have to be careful with the old guys. They're fragile :)
