I am just a young Weightlifter from Vancouver B.C, and brand new to the boards but I had a quick question about my eating habits. - I wasn't sure if this is where I should be placing it but I need to put it everywhere because I am concerned as this weekend I am competing in the BC Winter Games. - As of late I have been trying to make a lighter weight/kilo class (58 Kilo Class – from 63 Kilo Class) and I hadn't had much time to do it. The best way I thought to do it was to minimize my portions. – I already had been eating well and never had a problem with losing weight but I have problems keeping it off because it is fast to come back when not active for a few days.
I lost the weight that I needed to and have fit into the 58 Kilo class for now. However I now find that I have a lack of interest in eating and have become a slight bit obsessed with my weight. I have been doing a lot of cycling and stair climbing and have worked off I would say twice as much as I am eating. I no longer eat breakfast or lunch really, and minimal dinner. I am wondering how this is even working. This has never been a problem for me… So I guess my question would be what is a better way to keep off the weight than not eating? – Is there something effective that I could do, (i.e. cycling) on top of lifting that would keep the weight off?
Keep eating for your metabolism will shut down. Keep the portions small and eat often. Good luck at your meet!- Mike
-------------- I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
