Hello to everyone! I am new to this thing but I have read and read so many different topics on lifting weights and I have basically taken my old lifting routine and was wondering if sounded alright. I workout every other day, I watch what I eat and I take whey protein and creatine daily. My workouts consist of:

Monday: Chest, triceps, and shoulders

Wednesday: biceps, back and legs

Friday: Chest, triceps, and shoulders

Sunday: biceps, back and legs

and so on.

Is this enough rest between routines?

great way to overtrain.....

are you using exercises like squats, deadlifts, pull ups, dips, bench press?

I include squats in my legs routine and bench press (flat, incline and decline) during my chest routine. Do you think having two days rest periods would be better?

this might work with low intensity...but if u bump up intensity.....it will inevitably lead to overtraining....

I would do no more than 5 sets per basic compound exercise per movement/bodypart(so pick just 1 variation of bench and do it....doing all 3 is too much)

doing legs and back twice a week might be too much...unless like I said you keep volume and intensity low....with upper body you may be able to lift with slightly more intensity..

definitely include variations of deadlifts in your back/lower body workouts....as well as chin ups/pull ups....this is how u'll get results....
