Hi everyone! Just looking to get some ideas as to how I should alter my workout schedule. I'm resuming my martial arts training on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I would think I should work out on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays?? Or maybe I should just be working out Tuesdays and Thursdays and taking the weekend off from weights. Any suggestions?

Hey Mike,

That depends on the intensity of the workout. If your MA workout includes a lot of "conditioning," you may want to skip the weights on the days you aren't doing MA. I know my sensei loved to end the session with a set of 50 pushups, then a set of 40, then 30, etc. The day after a solid chest & triceps workout, this can be really rough.

Take the first week back to MA off from the weight room, just to see what kind of workout you'll be in for. Then you can gauge what you'll be dealing with.

It really should affect what you're doing with cardio.
