4 days ago, playing rugby I injured my bicep when trying to make an arm tackle. I have lots of bruising from the middle of my left bicep all the way down to my wrist (covering most of the bicep and forearm) so obviously there was some trauma.

I no longer see the bottom 1/4 of my bicep. It seems that my upper bicep got larger and then goes flat as you head towards the elbow. I have read where you can tear the uppper tendon but did not find much about tearing the bottom tendon that connects down by the elbow. Do you think I have torn the bottom tendon?

I am seeing a sports specialist this week. If he gives me the option to repair or not what would you recommend. I am an active 39 year old whos main way of staying healthy is via weight training...thus the concern! thx

Hey, Doug - how did this work out for you? I'm in a similar situation, but mine's from getting cross-checked in an ice hockey game. I know there's 2 tendons at the lower end and it looks to me like I might have popped one of them, but I'm stalling on seeing a specialist until I can get some background info...
Thanks,
Joe
