Welcome to freetrainers. You shouldn't be on any thing like a "Low Carb" or "Low Cal" diet. You should be getting the right amount of calories for you body weight from the right nutrients. Cut out unhealthy carbs and your calorie intake should be calculated according to your weight. If you fill out your profile we can give you better info. There are alot of knowledgeable member here that will help.
Good luck.

Neither! Like Carivan said you NEED to eat sufficient amounts of the right foods to achieve your goals.
Again, welcome to freetrainers. There are some people on this site who are extremely knowledgeable about nutrition, but they'd need to see your profile to give you more sppecific help. When I first registered with FT, I wasn't sure what to put in my profile, so I looked at a number of other peoples profiles to get a feel for it.
