i am using the 12 week mass building program and am having great success! I am into my 3rd week and am noticing I still have some energy for more reps and sets. IS this OK? I am following the program exactly and am working the exercises to failure. I just feel the need to throw in some more calf raises or a set of rows, ect....
THANKS!

First of all, you do not need to work to failure each and every time...you risk overtraining that way! You can add a few more reps. and sets...this is fine. Sometimes, I will even add one or two additional exercises.

However, keep your total number of sets at around 20 or so. You can exceed occasionally, but you should not consistently do that. Remember, you only want to shock your muscles...not overtrain them.

Good luck!

good advice,

also, if you are doing extra reps then use a heavier weight to hit the number specified. This will make you work harder as well, and perhaps you won't have as much energy for extra sets or movements.

Keep us posted.
