I'm just curious as to how many of you think that lifting can be alot of the times, all about how you are feeling in your mind? I remember when I First started, I would always tell myself "Oh I'll never be able to do this weight.." and then after not being able to do that weight for a long time, I finally said "I've been trying this forever, I should get 12 reps by now." Sure enough the next week I got 12 reps. Also it seems that whenever I'm angry at something and I goto lift I can't lift as much because my mind is somewhere else.
Thoughts, opinions?

mind muscle connection is very important, and to me the music I listen too. I seem to get in my own world, and not distracted by peoples convos, what their doing etc. Good example of this is when I deadlift. I stand there eyes closed, head down and I think about the lift, I visualize I imagine my grip, the drive the lockout, it touching the floor and me doing it again. Then I chalk up and do it 2 times somtimes 3.
I think 50% of bodybuilding/sports/anything is mental......I don't think a 1st time rookie will bench 500lbs 1st day, but if he keeps his mind set, eventually he will.
My favorite quote is.......Adversity causes some to break, others to break records. :dumbbell:
