ladies gaining inches of muscle

I'm trying to convice a female friendof mine to put on some muscle on her legs--example 1 inch on her calves, 1 inch on her thighs, and 1 inch on her butt-bt for a lady to gain muscle is hard--so I'm wondering how hard would that be? If even for us guys is hard, we want to build, and we're still mantaining. How much harder is it for a lady to add those extra inches on their bodies? I knw she have to eat mre, lift heavier(maybe for a lady a 100 pound squat is heavy, or a 65 pound lunges). Do by simply doing the right routine exercises/diet ladies can look fuller/shapier without adding inches?
