Hey,
I've been reading so much on here about how beneficial HIIT is. Is it possible to shorten your workout time and still lose weight doing HIIT? Or should you continue doing Cardio Intervals, and exercise longer? For example, I usually do 30-40 mins of Cardio, different Intervals, but pretty much the same pace, just a higher/lower incline every 2 minutes. Calorie-wise, I'm wondering if I hit the treadmill for 25 mins, using different speeds AND inclines, if I could lose more weight due to the metabolism boost? :dumbbell::big_smile::surprised:

Anything that boosts your metabolism will burn more calories. THe most important way to kick your metabolism into gear is tose 5-6 smaller meals a day you always hear about every 2.5 - 3 hours. As for calories if you want to loose the fat without loosing the lean muscle mass you have you're gonna have to start couting calories. You can talk to your doctor about figuring out your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure). Then you zig zag this number. 3 days you go below your TDEE by 15-20%, then for 1-3 days you go back to your TDEE, or above by 5% or so. This prevents your body from going into starvation mode. Starvation mode keeps the fat since it knows your TDEE caloric intake is not being met. Your body is so much smarter than you think, so the trick is to outsmart it and keep it guessing. By going under your TDEE for those 3 days your body will burn the fat because it thinks that you are still either meeting your TDEE or in a calorie surplus mode
